and OMG am i displeased. first of all, they use the same authors to publish like 3-4 works in the magazine. i submitted a short story piece last issue and it was rejected due to, apparently, too many submissions. then i look at the material: IT’S PRETTY MUCH ALL FUCKING POETRY. i love poetry, write it myself, but i feel like anyone can easily write poetry. you telling me you do creative writing because you can write a poem is like telling me you love jazz because you’ve only listened to Michael Bublé. i love and live for challenges. i write short stories. i’ve written A NOVEL AND A HALF. can we like, get a balance in here??
my new goal when i head back to university: BECOME EDITOR IN CHIEF OF THE IGNATIAN LITERARY MAGAZINE NO MATTER WHAT THE COSTS. FUCK THE PEOPLE/POETS WHO GOT SEVEN WORKS PUBLISHED. IT NEEDS A MAJOR CHANGE.
